We're back! Had a most wonderful trip to Italy. We stayed in a lovely 400 year old farm house/villa in San Giminiagno for a week and took many little trips to different little towns among them Volterra where Alabastre comes from. We visited some wineries, Volpei which is a wonderful little town on its own high up in the hills. There are only 46 permanent residents living int he little village almost entirely owned by the winery. There are no stores there but only restaurants and the winery has lovely apartments they rent to tourists. I would highly recommend it! Another of the wineries we visited was Antinori. We were very fortunate to have a tour of this winery (producing some of the best wines) as they do not do tours for the public. We also visited Felsina and Brancaia. All were wonderful experiences. We look forward to seeing you all on April 14, 2009 for our Italian Red tasting. David will share much more with you then. Ciao bella and bello! David and Nina Margesson
